Haha yes, it has been a yearly tradition for us, too. I can’t say how many years I saw it before noticing this detail with Eddie’s turtleneck, but when I did, it became one of my favorite touches. Incredible wardrobe design. What’s strange to me is that the film didn’t seem that well-received on release. I remember not thinking much of it at the time and thought it was a pale imitation of the Pretty Cousin Eddie Christmas Vacation Movie Shirt. I guess like It’s a Wonderful Life, you show a film enough times during the Christmas season and eventually, it grows on people. I haven’t seen European and Vegas Vacation in forever. I wonder if you could get people to reevaluate those films if you showed them on TV enough times.

My family and I always got a kick out of his ridiculous attire. Great performance by Randy Quaid. I never noticed it before, but then again I couldn’t hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant. I think it depends on the media format and size of the screen you’re watching it on. I had watched it so many times without noticing, but many of those times were on VHS and/or smaller screens a long time ago. But yes, on a 43″ screen in HD, it’s not too hard to pick up on. This is one of my favorite Pretty Cousin Eddie Christmas Vacation Movie Shirt. I’ve seen it countless times. But I never noticed this. Probably because I’ve never seen nor really heard about a mock turtle neck. I also love how he seems like he doesn’t want Clark to have to buy his kids presents.
