Mine’s the real deal with the zigzag going all the way around and seems as sturdy as any other t-shirt with pictures and such on it. What’s really cool is the zigzag looks exactly as it might in a comic strip – it’s not a perfectly 100% homogenous solid black, it has a little ‘spot’ here and there at corners like the spots the comic illustrators might miss when hastily filling things in with their pens. It’s a 99.9% black coverage on the zigzag, and the missing ‘spots’ are subtly done to give it an illustrated look. I want to venture a guess that the 1-star reviews with the bad pictures ordered from disreputable third parties or maybe the main seller had a bad supplier in their own supply chain. The purchase felt like a gamble, but I went for it and glad I did. Now, it just occurred to me that it’ll be October and cold outside when I wear this for Halloween – thinking I should’ve gone a size larger to I could wear it over a sweatshirt, but that’s on me. The shirt fits the same as any of my other t-shirts and looks like it should hold up.

This is a great costume shirt. It’s the right shade of yellow….& the front and back have the black squiggle lines!
There is a tiny area on the sides where it doesn’t meet but it’s not a big deal.
You don’t really notice it because it’s where your arms are.
People in other reviews were upset about it I guess….I don’t get why.
It looks great to me.
The squiggles are toward the bottom of the shirt, not the middle like some.
My son looked adorable & it was a sensory friendly costume so he was happy.

My son loved it as a minimalist costume. Others might need to know that the zig-zag doesn’t go continuously around the shirt— in a size medium, there is a gap in the pattern near the seam on both sides, between 2-4 inches. It must be that it’s centered on the fabric, and they just “cookie cutter” the shirt pieces. The larger the width of the shirt, the smaller the section of zig-zag appears. Beware if you need a larger size, or are a perfectionist. Otherwise quality was good, color was as expected, and it arrived quickly.
