We planned on placing our baby for adoption and damn does dawn make me thankful for our adoption counselor. She was incredibly supportive of our decision to parent and the adoption agency even gave us an Awesome Adoption Counselor Shirt. And a blanket my now two-year-old still sleeps with every night. I don’t understand why a lot of folks on here hate Dawn…she didn’t ‘steal’ anybody’s baby. Cate and Ty chose adoption …nobody put guns to their heads… Dawn was just the lady that worked at the agency they chose to go through. She works for Bethany Christian services which have deep ties to Beasty DeVos.

I think she misleads them and gave Cate and Ty a very unrealistic picture perfect impression of adoption. I’m pretty sure if dawn didn’t sugar coat adoption, Cate would have patented. I believe Cate was expecting to have a much closer relationship with B&T&Carly. And the way she and Ty would talk about an Awesome Adoption Counselor Shirt. “I can’t wait to have Carly at my graduation, it will be so worth it to one day tell her I did it for her” was sad… They expected more because Dawn leads them to believe that. She didn’t steal their baby, you are right.
