My local store, which is quite small, has the same prices as Amazon. So I normally search online and buy it there. Just a tip, you can often buy B&N gift cards online for a discount. Cardcash is currently selling them at 95% of face value. That might narrow the gap somewhat. As an adult, I have a library card at a library with a large Overdrive collection, so I eventually read almost anything I want. I actually don’t mind long hold times because there is plenty else to read, and it’s a fun surprise when the book is suddenly available.

I just auto clicked a link my favorite indie author sent and didn’t even think about it until I was opening the Kindle app. Whoops! At least the author gets a higher royalty that way, so not the worst thing I could have done. But I downloaded the Nook app for next time! I appreciate that’s not for everyone and saving a few quid is absolutely most important but for me, I certainly now prefer to buy in a local shop and enjoy the patter that goes with. Its certainly more effort but I think it’s more rewarding
