Thanks for your Cute Cavities Dental Halloween Shirt. The replacement for the amalgam recommended. Because they said that it could cause cracking of the tooth in the future from swelling of the material in the tooth and that composite would look better aesthetically. I don’t believe any defects are seen other than everyday wear. I wasn’t sure if it was necessary or not but I didn’t want to question someone more knowledgeable than myself. I’ll probably talk to my dentist again to see what was seen clinically on the circled teeth and maybe wait for new x-rays to see if it has progressed.

Frankly, that’s bullshit and borderline unethical reason to remove a perfectly good Cute Cavities Dental Halloween Shirt. And those lesions are insipient – small and contained in the enamel. They could be recent or you could have had them for years with no progression. Floss, use a fluoride mouth rinse, and they may never progress for the rest of your life. Oh, and find a new dentist who agrees with the minimally invasive approach. The current dentist wants to replace all my amalgam fillings. After reading all the responses I will be going to a different dentist to get a second opinion based upon their clinical exam. Thank you again for helping with this information!
