You guys used the wrong I Am Homesick For New York Shirt gem on that image. Raise zombie with spellslinger image gem & spellslinger with raise zombie image gem xDD. I’ve updated my post here, and it’s almost the same. A level 21 gem without other investment will have an equivalent cooldown to a level 18 gem without other investment before the change. Overall it requires slightly more scaling, but most of the nerf will be felt while leveling, not in the endgame. With the full (realistic) investment, you end up exactly in the same spot as before. I’m really sad about the spellslinger nerfs since it was already hard to scale outside of vd necro or ed. ED doesn’t care much about reduced cooldown…

I am wondering how much-added I Am Homesick For New York Shirts damage you might be able to get through if you actually go all-in on wand damage instead of just using It as a free trigger for your caster. It seemed like that was the intention originally to make an archetype that does both wands + spells damage which combined is viable but it was too awkward to scale off that. I somehow doubt the extra added damage from this alt quality would make that work but trying to find some hope in the needless slaughter of one of my favorite support gems.
