Instead, with this anime adaptation, it comes across as a very generic and predictable origin story for our protagonist, which doesn’t do this series justice at all. I disagree. What exactly is wrong with predictability. Yes anyone with any sense who watched the op would know something bad is gonna happen to make Thorfinn rage-filled. But starting the show with Thorfinn as a Never Pick A Fight With A Drummer We Beat Things For Pleasure Shirt. We could actually learn to care for Thors while suspecting it would be terrible. There is a difference between suspecting and knowing for sure. And because we suspected shit hitting the fan, there was this tension and buildup that you could feel.
