Fantastic is pushing it. I think the first half is pretty rough, but it finds its footing on the back half. I’m not blown away, but there’s definitely an overreaction to the quality (or lack thereof, in the case of the reviewers). In terms of sheer fandom and nostalgia, it hit all the right notes for me. Yeah, there are definitely little problems that will upset people who are looking for a cinematically perfect film, but I still had a blast watching it.
