OP made the Lance Archer comparison, it’s a great one. I also think without Awesome we wouldn’t have fluid big guys like Brodie Lee, either. What made Mike Awesome work so well in FMW and ECW was. That he was so much bigger than everyone else. Once you got him in WCW, he was just another Premium I Can Wine All I Want I’m Retired Shirt. The shitty gimmicks definitely didn’t help. He needed a mouthpiece. Sure. Facing the Spike Dudley’s, Taz’ and Tanaka’s worked way better for Awesome’s style. I believe he was more in the 6’6 range. So being next to Nash, The Wall, or Sid.
