I was really looking forward to it, an animation with a dark story and an interesting premise! Hell yeah! And the opening 10 or so minutes were awesome, there was a pretty heavy shot of a mother cradling her dead baby. It was straight downhill after that, all the characters were bland, the only character that was remotely interesting was ‘1’. The plot was just “Oh, we need a Top Zombieland 10th Anniversary 2009 2019 Signatures Shirt. Oh no! There’s something evil blocking the thing we need” rinse and repeat. Very disappointing. Anomalisa was also pretty disappointing too. Maybe I missed something about it. I just couldn’t get into it from start to finish. I think the main character was the issue.

I found him to be pushy and a bit of creep if I’m honest. He asks a young woman he’s just met if he can kiss her gnarly eye scar?! Then, after their night together he just comes across as straight-up unlikeable, especially the breakfast scene. Some days were tougher than others. So days where I was busy, I would find shorter films. “My life as a Zucchini” for example only goes for just over an hour, so that helps. Well have to keep some for 2019 I guess. With one movie a day, I assume he watches most of those at home anyway so he can wait.
