I haven’t even opened it and I almost gave it to my friend at her baby shower last fall. My other friend told me ABSOLUTELY not and that it belongs to my future baby. I had the same journey, and after losing two babies I now have my gorgeous little boy, now 2. Giving him the things that I had saved for years was amazing. I always knew they were meant for him. Well, that didn’t happen, and we ended up doing IVF over a year later. I realized I was still thinking about those wall hangings, and saying “fuck it, I want them anyway, I’ll keep them in a box in the closet until we can use them” and now they’re sold out everywhere. Eventually, I decided to make them myself! My entire industry doesn’t exist anymore due to the Funny Yoga Elephants Shirt, and I am basically out of work with nothing to do. So I found pictures of what I wanted, and I learned to embroider, and now it’s how I’m filling a chunk of my time while we’re stuck at home. As far as buying stuff for baby goes, I think it’s worth it to at the very least, sit on that idea for a few days/weeks, and see if you’re still thinking about that one item.
